Kolkata by Sripanth (Nikhil Sarkar)

I was in 7th standard, when I first read this book, but could not finish it..
I have been searching this book ever since (it's a little difficult when you do not remember the name of the writer)..
This book is about the existence, heritage and origin of the city of joy, Kolkata.. I am not a history buff, but somehow this had always been "the one that got away" kind of book to me.
As a reader, I loved the lucid writing and the sense of old school that this book brought to me..
The simplicity and the chivalry of the colonial era;the prominence yet the helplessness of the British capital is beautifully held up here by the writer, Nikhil Sarkar.

My search ends today...
My knight in shining armour of a little brother bought it for me, making it even more special, as it was from his first salary.......💓 ..
It is like I got hold of a slice of past, or even better, a piece of childhood...
That's an inexplicable feeling of happiness and I'm happy not to explain it...
