I have always had a finite number of people in my life.
The rest of my life had always been occupied by my self-knitted world, which obviously includes "books" and more recently for the past decade "movies" and "TV series". I am not a soap opera kind of person. Daily life drama doesn't intrigue me, because if you look around you have enough of those already.
I am more skewed towards the genre of comedy and thriller with the occasional curiosity for science fiction and fantasy.
When a book ends, there comes an emptiness that can only be felt by a few people who has an over active imagination.
The collapse back to reality takes a bit of getting used to!
This happens even when a favorite TV series comes to an end, or when a movie franchise, who has been a part of not only your adult life but also your childhood through various cartoons, decides to end their game.
Appreciation and criticism are the parts of life but that can not take away the feeling when I gasped and laughed and feared together with the characters, while watching them. It was like being in the same room with them.
All those times when the day did not turn as I anticipated, the world of queens and dragons or sometimes a gang of nerdy scientists made me forget all about it.
In the last few years (that includes last couple of days) I have said goodbyes to some of the virtual relations who proved more real at times, when the real ones were not around.
All of them taught me something!
As Tagore once said that if you search with your heart and soul, there is knowledge in simplest of places like in ashes.
Every time a part of me faded as they ended but every time I gained a new part in me:
The Harry Potter series : There is magic in everything. All your quirks someday will lead you where you are meant to be.
FRIENDS : (although I watched its re-runs, it still felt real when the last episode ended)
No matter how different you are and how good and bad your day was, there are people in your life who will make fun of you but will always stand by you and your choices, no matter what. People who will support you in public, but also correct you in private so that next time you do not make a fool of yourself.
Love comes in different forms but eventually friendship wins!!
SHERLOCK HOLMES TV Series : Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. Do not just see; observe.
White Collar : Partnership, no matter what kind it is, based solely on trust and nothing else. There is a pinch of goodness in a con man as well, one just need to find a right partner to bring that out!
Castle : When logic defies you, search for the story because no matter how strange it is, there is a story that binds everything and everyone...always!
VEEP : The satirical enactment of the political system of the world, and the fact that Power and Conscience do not go hand in hand!
The Big Bang Theory : It is okay to be different and slow in terms of the choices that you make in life. It is okay to be nerdy, it is okay to follow a different path and it is okay to do something that few people understand and accept as a career.
It is okay to be a researcher whose last few experiments were inconclusive. And most importantly it is okay to not be okay with yourself at times as long as you have people around you who whether they understand you or not will be there to distract your mind and help you make a fresh start tomorrow.
The Avenger movie series : Superheroes are people who faced situations that were not possible to live through yet survived and came out stronger.
Game Of Thrones (2days left for he final episode) : Family is the most important thing in the world. No matter where you go and how much knowledge you gain, at the end of the day if that is not used to protect your family, it is of no use. Power is nothing (even if Cersie said otherwise), if you do not have your family to support and rejoice with you.
Do not just be clever. be wise!
I will obviously watch and re-watch everyone of these but the feeling that there will never be another again, is somewhat heart breaking.
.......as Tony said, "part of the journey is the end".
|| So here's to them who made the reel real.
...so that life is a little easy to deal.
Out there is another you.
...who is in a dire need of a friend like you.
Match your quirks with another one.
...and life, as impossible as it may seem, will be fun.
In all of you I found that space,
...that slowed me down and taught me to look around in this race.||
To all the sad fans out there,
Sunset is the proof that endings can be beautiful too but let's just hope that the endings will bring new beginnings soon enough!
#StayBlessed!
