According to Bengali calendar Rabindranath Tagore's birthday falls on 25th of Baisakh; which varies in between 7th to 9th of May, as per the English calendar.
...This year, it is today!
For the world He is a Nobel laureate, novelist, poet, story-teller and a literary institution as a whole.
However, I have a very special relationship with him.
He is my first love.
I was born almost 5 decades after He died, yet till today everything He wrote seems so relevant to me.
He understood women like no one. May be that is one of the reasons I fell in love, because He wrote characters beyond His time.
When ever I have a question, He has an answer for it, in one of his thousands of writings, for sure. You just have to find it.
Like everyone He was flawed in many sense and the best part is He wrote it himself. He put forward his cons and urged his readers to be aware of it!
He lies in every mood.
He resides in every thought.
He runs through the blood.
By his writing, he will be relevant in years to come as he was yesterday and as he is today!
That is what is great about him.
....and that is what makes him human and I will love him for that!
