SunAndSweet

Today the Sun starts it journey towards tropic of cancer, for the people residing in northern hemisphere of the Earth, it marks the end of the winter making the days longer; that is very geographically speaking..
Speaking nostalgically, the best memory of today's date for me goes back to the days spent in my dadu'r bari (maternal grandfather's house), in Behala, a place in South Kolkata..

Sitting in the smaller section of the terrace, eating pitthe and payesh(Bengali sweets made specially in sankranti) made by dimma (maternal grandmother), and watching kite flying and the self inflicted competition of the local flyers. No sooner my plate had become empty than another pitthe would fill the gap....Today no matter how much I crave, neither dimma nor her pitthe will come...I guess, the heaven wall comes in between us...
Once I thought that the over eating at grandmother's place was as hard as life gets.
..aaha well...!! Naive we were once....
